Amy Winehouse gets St Lucia government permission to become resident

London, May 9 : Amy Winehouse seems set to realise her dream of becoming a St Lucia resident, for the singer has been granted the permission by the government.

Tourism Minister Allen Chastanet has invited the singer to live on the island provided she respects the law.

"Once she lives within the laws and stays decent, everyone's going to be very supportive of her," the Sun quoted him as saying.

The pop star had jetted to St Lucia for a 71-day vacation and had fallen in love with the place.

The 25-year-old was previously reported to be eyeing prospective homes under the Caribbean sun after being fed up of her native London. (ANI)
