Chris Brown Rihanna Assault Charge May Be Dropped

Assault charges against Chris Brown look like being dropped because of the leaked photo of a bashed Rihanna.

The photo that surfaced on gossip site TMZ was leaked to the website by someone in the Los Angeles Police Department.

Brown’s lawyer Mark Geragos now claims that because of the leaked photo it is impossible for his client Brown to get a fair trial.

Geragos has told radar.com that “The photograph was immediately viewed by hundreds of thousands of viewers and was displayed on every news channel for several weeks. In fact, the photograph still remains on the TMZ website. The purpose of the leak was necessarily for profit and to vilify Mr. Brown and poison the potential jury pool."

Brown is due to attend another hearing over the bashing of his former girlfriend, pop star Rihanna on May 28.

“In this case specifically, the leaking of a photograph (whether for profit or not) of a complaining witness violates a variety of criminal and regulatory prohibitions,” Geragos said. “In and of itself these actions would not only constitute demonstratable bias on the part of the involved officers but could potentially be the basis for a Motion to Dismiss Outrageous Governmental Misconduct."

Meanwhile, naked photos of an alleged Rihanna and an alleged Chris Brown (with pink panties on his head) surfaced online on Friday. Rihanna’s record label Island Def Jam has taken action against sites posting the pics, even though they only allege they are of the singer.
